Welcome Back to My Neck of the Woods, Beauty!

At the risk of stating the obvious, I LOVE gardening. I love turning up the earth. I love pulling weeds. I love digging my fingers into the dirt and watching the sparkly sheen of its minerals glint in the sun. I love sewing seeds and watching them grow, and I love the luxury of spending so much time outdoors. It’s seriously one of my favorite things to do, and this year, the experience will be even better: I finally got a plot in my community garden!

For those of you who live in rural climbs, this may not seem like a big deal. But for a city dweller like me, this is everything. Garden plots in my neighborhood are in such high demand that you have to wait for years for one to open up (three, in my case). When I received the news that my turn had come, I actually jumped up and down and squealed with delight!

 The past few weeks have been filled with tilling, weeding, composting, and rock painting, and the whole process has left me feeling so full. So aligned. So…embodied.

And let me tell you: it feels good.

Embodiment is harmony of being. It’s the perfect alignment of head, heart, and soul. It’s a deep awareness of the body: how it’s feeling, what it’s doing, and what it needs. It’s the Genius and its vehicle driving together on a journey of beauty, appreciation, and trust. It’s feeling at home in yourself and your environment, and it’s something you absolutely deserve to experience as often as you can.
